KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 9 — The Bukit Bintang monorail station was renamed today as “AirAsia-Bukit Bintang” after operator Prasarana gave naming rights to the budget airline.
AirAsia said visuals of its destinations are displayed throughout the station in the city centre here, which includes a new sales centre where people can book flights.
“This will be something very exciting. It’s not just a boring partnership; there’s interaction with passengers coming through the monorail,” AirAsia chief executive Aireen Omar told a press conference at the launch of the “AirAsia-Bukit Bintang” monorail station here.
The new sales centre at the monorail station is offering a 20-per cent discount for selected routes such as Bangkok in Thailand, Clarke in the Philippines as well as Langkawi and Penang from today until October 19 for travel from October 12 this year to October 29 next year.
AirAsia said in a statement that it was one of the first batches of companies to participate in Prasarana’s Station Naming Rights Programme that aimed to improve services for commuters.
