KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 20 — The air quality in the country improves further at noon today with 10 areas recording healthy air, from seven in the morning.

According to the Department of Environment’s (DOE) portal, the three new areas with good air quality are Tanjung Malim in Perak, with Air Pollutant Index (API) reading at (48), Kuching (50) and Sibu (50).

The other seven areas are Miri Industrial Training Institute (27), Limbang (30), Kapit (31), Sandakan (35), Kota Kinabalu (38), Keningau (41) and Miri (42).

Meanwhile, 41 other areas recorded moderate API readings with Seri Manjung, Perak, recording the highest, at 93 at 1 pm.

An API reading of 0 to 50 indicates good air quality; 51 to 100, moderate; 101 to 200, unhealthy; 201 to 300, very unhealthy and 300 and above, hazardous.
