KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 24 — After over 10 years of enriching communities via its water conservation and education efforts, Heineken Malaysia’s corporate social responsibility arm the former GAB Foundation has unveiled its new identity as SPARK Foundation.

The rebranding was announced at an event recently at the Glasshouse in Seputeh where the SPARK Foundation also revealed its renewed vision to grow with local communities in the areas of environmental conservation and education through strategic partnerships for a better tomorrow.

Guests at the launch were treated to several special installations including a live artist mural and interactive education walls as well as a special tour guided by Chairman of SPARK Foundation Tan Sri Saw Choo Boon and Renuka Indrarajah, Trustee of the SPARK Foundation and Corporate Affairs and Legal Director of Heineken.

“Our vision is to spark changes in the area of environmental conservation and education for a better tomorrow. And for us to make the changes happen, we will be working with the communities, especially millennials through strategic partnerships, for greater change,” said Saw in his speech.

In line with the foundation’s shift to inspiring the younger generation, a special #betheSPARKnow video featuring three SPARK agents of change that consists of radio host and content creator Ryan Matjeraie, indigenous artist, musician and cultural activist Alena Murang and emcee Zher Peen was also released at the event.
