KUALA LUMPUR, March 30 — AirAsia Bhd will fly to Pontianak, Indonesia, from Kuching with direct daily flights commencing June 5, 2017.

In a statement today, the low-cost airline said, in celebration of new route, travellers could enjoy all-in-fares from RM89 one-way which available from now until April 2, 2017 for the travel period from June 5 to September 30, 2017.

AirAsia Head of Commercial, Spencer Lee, said the airline was excited to launch its second international flight from Kuching.

“The flights will further grow our connectivity between Malaysia and Indonesia for all our guests,” he said.

Lee said the airline was confident this new route would contribute to the tourist target of five million for Sarawak this year aside from boosting the local economy and trade sector.

AirAsia currently flies to nine destinations from Kuching with a total of 438 weekly flights both ways. — Bernama
