LONDON, Jan 29 — Peter Pilotto, the luxury label founded in 2007 by Peter Pilotto and Christopher de Vos, took home the 2014 Designer Fashion Fund organised by the British Fashion Council and Vogue magazine.

The designers beat competition from Emilia Wickstead, House of Holland, Mary Katrantzou, Osman, and Zoe Jordan to be awarded this year’s top prize.

“Christopher and Peter are deserved winners of this year’s fund award,” said Alexandra Shulman, Editor of British Vogue and Chair of the BFC/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund. “They have remained true to their vision of a print and colour focused brand but have managed to expand and grow the business to a level where they can now compete on an international stage. It’s a pleasure to be able to support them”.

The pair will receive a £200,000 (RM1.1 million) grant to boost their business as well as a program of high-level mentoring from industry leaders. Peter Pilotto recently unveiled their first collaboration with giant US retailer Target, following in the steps of designers Phillip Lim, Prabal Gurung and Italian label Missoni.

Caroline Rush, Chief Executive of the British Fashion Council, praised the pair for having “demonstrated they are a thriving fashion label with a great vision to take the next step in building a global designer fashion brand.”
