NEW YORK, Oct 13 — To promote a new line-up of espressos, select Tim Hortons coffee shops in Buffalo, New York have gone and done the logical thing and paired the flavours of their signature hot chicken wings with latte.

That’s right.

The birthplace of the spicy hot wing has created an eyebrow-raising Buffalo wing-flavoured latte in a promotional gimmick that makes a nod to the city’s token contribution to the food world.

The Buffalo Latte is made with espresso, steamed milk, mocha and a bold, tangy Buffalo sauce flavour. A dusting of zesty Buffalo seasoning is then sprinkled on the whipped topping.

It’s not the first time the Canadian multinational coffee chain has come up with creative and unlikely food pairings.

To mark Canada’s 150th anniversary this year, some US stores sold poutine donuts and maple bacon iced coffee drinks.

This summer, Starbucks put a specialty coffee garnished with beef jerky on their menu for a limited time across select stores.

The Pepper Nitro with a Jerky Twist was made with Congo coffee, served on a draft through a nitro tap, and topped with a bamboo skewer of beef jerky.

The Buffalo Latte will be offered at two Buffalo restaurants for a limited time. — AFP-Relaxnews
