LOS ANGELES, Oct 2 — Taco Bell is the first quick service restaurant that can boast an American Vegetarian Association (AVA) certified menu.

From yesterday, the Mexican-inspired fast food chain will offer 13 AVA-certified vegetarian items in all of its 6,000+ US establishments.

“At Taco Bell, vegetarians are not an afterthought. We sell more than 350 million vegetarian menu items each year, but until now haven’t been vocal about it,” said Brian Niccol, CEO, Taco Bell Corp

But as well as clearly labelling in-store menus, the company is updating its website and mobile apps so that they have dedicated meat-free sections to make discovery and understanding even easier.

“This is the perfect time to move our vegetarian menu from the background to the forefront to further illustrate our commitment to delivering food that fits our customers’ evolving lifestyles,” said Niccol. — AFP-Relaxnews
