LONDON, Jan 13 — Launched in what is now Lotus’s 70th year and ahead of its celebrations of the auspicious anniversary, the new Evora GT410 Sport takes one of the British sports car manufacturer’s success stories and refines it further to deliver an even more desirable car. The Evora GT410 Sport is available in both 2-seat and 2+2 configurations, and with a choice of manual and automatic transmissions. The new model draws its inspiration from the phenomenal Evora GT430 to add greater advanced aerodynamics to what is already a celebrated sports car.
The GT410 Sport inherits a number of key elements of the GT430’s sculptured body style, such as the specifically designed new composite front and rear body panels. But by leaving behind some of the more extreme high downforce elements of the GT430, the new Evora GT410 Sport presents a far subtler and sleeker silhouette than its predecessor. Of course, as with all Lotus sports cars, aerodynamic downforce is still a key requirement for delivering the expected performance and handling. To that end, this new GT-class coupe generates up to 96kg of downforce, which is 50 per cent more than the Evora Sport 410, and a new benchmark for similarly priced rivals to aspire to.
Speaking at the launch event for the new Evora GT410 Sport, Group Lotus plc’s CEO, Jean-Marc Gales said, “We are continually exploring new ideas, innovating and evolving our cars in pursuit of perfection. The new Evora GT410 Sport takes the lessons learnt from the development of the GT430 to deliver something outstanding and highly capable.”
Powering the lightweight car with an unladen weight of just 1,297 kg is a 3.5-litre supercharged Toyota-derived V-6 producing, which produces 410 horsepower and 420 Nm of torque. 0-60 mph takes just 3.9 seconds with the semi-auto or four seconds with the manual gearbox, however top speed with the automatic ‘box is 171mph, which is 19mph slower than the manual’s 190mph top speed.
The new Lotus Evora GT410 Sport range can be ordered right now in European and Asia Pacific markets, while customers in the USA and China will be able to order the car from the summer of this year. — AFP-Relaxnews
