Sepang, Feb 21 — Naza Italia Sdn Bhd, Malaysia’s importer and distributor of Ferrari, launched the Ferrari 458 Speciale at the Sepang International Circuit today in conjunction with the first ever Ferrari Racing Days event to be held over this weekend at the SIC.

Datuk Wira SM Faisal Tan Sri SM Nasimuddin, Joint Group Executive Chairman of Naza Group of Companies, said at the launch, “With its roots in motorsport deeply set, Ferrari has invested extensively in technology transfer from the Formula 1 track to the road. The sensational 458 Speciale certainly lives up to its name and our Malaysian customers will be astounded by its power and finesse.”

The Ferrari 458 Speciale is the latest product offering from the company that makes the prancing horse, and is a refined version of the 458 Ferrari; and many of the refinements will eventually find their way into the other models in the Ferrari range.

The most significant improvement in the 458 Speciale is probably the active aerodynamics that balance down-force and reduce drag. Attention to aesthetics was not forgotten, as the Ferrari Styling Centre also was involved in the aerodynamics development. The engine produces a hefty 605 horsepower, and accelerates from zero to 100 kph in 3.0 seconds. And zero to 200 kph in 9.1 seconds.

Side Slip angle Control (SSC) is another feature that makes it easier to control the 458 Special at the limit. The SSC provides continuous readings of the car’s side slip, and utilizes traction control and torque vectoring to control it.

The 458 Speciale is available to Malaysian customers at RM1, 238,800, the base price exclusive of duties and options.
