SAN FRANCISCO, May 8 — Oklahoma City’s 6ft 9in (205cm) power forward Kevin Durant is this year’s cover athlete for the 2K Games’ NBA series, with “NBA 2K15” given an early October launch date.

Celebrating his status as this year’s NBA MVP, with an average of 32 points, 5.5 assists and 7.4 rebounds per game (level with the 1988/89 Michael Jordan), Durant makes the box shot of “NBA 2K15,” and it’s not his first time as cover star.

The DC-born player appeared on key art for “NBA 2K13” alongside Derrick Rose and Blake Griffin, the ill-fated “NBA Elite 11” which was cancelled before making retail, and college hoops title “NCAA March Madness 08.”

“Two life goals in the same day! So grateful,” Durant wrote on his Twitter and Instagram accounts, responding to both the MVP accolade and “2K15” cover announcement.

“NBA 2K15” has been given a North American release date of October 7 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Windows PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. — AFP-Relaxnews
