LAS VEGAS, Jan 7 — No time to work out? A new pocket-size fitness device offers an isometric workout of more than 50 exercises while also providing feedback and coaching.
Unveiled at this week's Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Tao Wellness's WellShell aims to get you working out no matter where you are — in the office, on a bus or airplane, or on the couch. The concept is to develop muscle tone and improve strength and circulation by applying pressure to the mouse-shaped device using yours hands, knees, thighs, etc. The WellShell in turn provides the resistance. The device's app (both Android and iOS versions available) then audibly tells you how hard to press, how many repetitions you need, and when to take a break.
Like many other devices on the market, the WellShell also offers 24-hour fitness tracking and keeps tabs on metrics such as calories burned, steps taken, heart rate, and sleep patterns.
No word yet on pricing, but the company expects to launch the new gadget this autumn. — AFP-Relaxnews
