SOLO (Indonesia), Sept 7 ― After one year of inaction at international level, the Indonesian national squad surprisingly devoured Malaysia 3-0 in just 21 minutes in an international friendly match at the Manahan Stadium here last night.

Team captain Boaz Salossa opened scoring in the 6th minute when Malaysia's defence failed to rein in Indonesia's strikers in midfield.

The national defence were again a letdown when Indonesian striker Irfan Haarys Bachdim slotted in the republic's second goal four minutes later.

While the Malaysian defence were busy fending off the waves of attacks from Indonesia, Boaz made a solo run in the penalty box and slammed in Indonesia's third goal in the 21st minute.

The second half saw the Harimau Malaysia coming back but the Indonesians were able shut out the neighbours until the final whistle. ― Bernama
