LOS ANGELES, June 18 — Singer Demi Lovato reportedly dissed Mariah Carey in a series of posts on social media which has since been deleted on celebrity gossip site The Art of Shade’s Instagram account.
Lovato came to Jennifer Lopez defence after the long feud between Carey and Lopez resurfaced recently after The Art of Shade posted a picture comparing Carey and Grande with the caption “When you order it online vs. when it arrives”, to which Lovato replied with “You got it the wrong way around honey”.
“Mariah is a legend and so talented but constantly disses people. It's nasty the way she treats Jennifer. Ari did nothing wrong,” Lovato wrote.
When Carey’s fans hit back at her, Lovato continued, “This is why I posted what I did. Jen keeps it classy but I'm not afraid to say s**t. The woman (Carey) is mean for no reason.”
“Extremely talented? Yes. Superhuman? Possibly. Unnecessarily rude? Absolutely,” Lovato added, in reference to Carey.
Her alleged comments has since been removed, but E! Online published screenshots of the comments in an article on their site.
The feud between Carey and Lopez began in the 2000’s when Carey told the media that she “didn’t know” who Lopez was and poured new fuel to the fire when she told photographers, “I still don’t know her” when asked in March this year.
Carey later clarified her comments in an interview with Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live in May, saying, “That was so long ago. I can't believe people still make such a big deal out of it.”
“Apparently, I am forgetful. It wasn't like I don't know who she is — of course I do. That's not the question,” Carey said on the show.
When asked by Cohen if she thought Lopez was cool, Carey replied, “I don't know her. What am I supposed to say? I'm not going to put on a thing like we're all Hollywood and let's pretend we're best friends.”
Looks like the claws are still out on this particular feud.
