LOS ANGELES, June 14 ― Liam Neeson is without a doubt THE action star of the moment. Not only does he usually play the classic hero who kills bad guys for justice, his films are also really good. Where other competitors like Jason Statham, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone make the same kind of movies, theirs are usually nowhere near as smart. Also Neeson is so cool he even turned down the role of James Bond 20 years ago, so instead Pierce Brosnan was cast for “Goldeneye”.

But that's not the only reason he's so hardcore; he trained Bruce Wayne in “Batman Begins”, saved hundreds of Jews in “Schindler's List”, went on a crusade to Jerusalem in “Kingdom of Heaven”, took down an entire gang of angry Albanians in “Taken”, played a member of “The A-Team”, portrayed the Greek god Zeus in “Clash” and “Wrath of the Titans” and single handedly took out a pack of hungry wolves in “The Grey”.

Besides all that, he used his Jedi-mind tricks on George Lucas, which not only landed him a role in “Star Wars: Episode 1 ― The Phantom Menace”, but also a cool hat.

When Neeson was offered the role of the Jedi Qui-Gon Jinn, he didn't even bother to read the script, he wanted in so badly he instantly said yes. Another of his most iconic roles is that of Bryan Mills in “Taken”. The Northern Irishman plays a former CIA-agent whose daughter is kidnapped and sold as a sex slave in Paris. Neeson then takes his “particular set of skills” to France and kills every last gangster responsible.

When you look at all his roles, Liam Neeson truly must be the coolest dude on the planet. In real life however, he isn't always that brave. In fact he suffers from acrophobia, an irrational fear of heights even when he isn't particularly high up. So if he's standing on an extra furry carpet, he can get absolutely terrified.

And with that moronic scream we'll wrap up this episode's Liam Neeson special. No worries though, we have a lot more on the 61-year old star, as his latest movie “A Million Ways to Die in the West” and his new DVD “Non-Stop” have just been released. ― Cover Media
