KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 18 ― The benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) opened higher today, extending yesterday's gains, spurred by light buying in selected blue-chips and small-capitalised stocks, dealers said.
At 9.25am, the key index stood at 1,661.75, marginally up 0.22 point, after opening lower at 1,661.41.
Market breadth was positive with gainers outpacing decliners 245 to 151 while 221 counters were unchanged, 1,221 untraded and 14 others suspended.
Turnover stood at 286.94 million shares worth RM134.79 million.
On other scoreboards, the FBM Emas Index rose 3.45 points to 11,585.73, the FBMT100 Index gained 1.18 points to 11,258.62 and the FBM Emas Shariah Index advanced 8.95 points to 12,510.53.
The FBM Ace perked 38.42 points to 6,558.39 while the FBM 70 added 0.31 point to 12,878.41.
On a sectorial basis, the Industrial Index added 4.19 points to 3,288.57, the Plantation Index climbed 27.10 points to 7,516.29 but the Finance Index trimmed 3.36 points to 14,074.64.
