KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 13 — Amway (M) Holdings Bhd’s pre-tax profit for the second quarter ended June 30, 2014 rose 2.6 per cent to RM35.22 million from RM32.04 million in the same quarter of 2013.

Revenue, however, decreased to RM193.51 million from RM195.36 million.

In a filing to Bursa Malaysia today, Amway said the group’s sales revenue decreased by 9.3 per cent for the quarter under review as compared to the preceding quarter.

This was due mainly to higher distributor productivity achieved in the first quarter, driven by the sales and marketing programmes.

Meanwhile, the increase in the group’s profit before tax was mainly due to lower expenses incurred.

On prospects for the current financial year, Amway said based on the current trend, the group expects sales revenue to be flat against the preceding year.

A second interim single-tier dividend of 10.0 sen net per share has been declared by the company. — Bernama
