TAWAU, May 6 — Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate for the Kalabakan parliamentary seat, Datuk Abdul Ghapur Salleh, will propose to the Federal Land Development Authority (Felda) to pay dividends on a monthly basis to its settlers here instead of annual payment.
He said the monthly dividends would benefit the settlers, especially in Felda Umas and Felda Kalabakan, to improve their standard of living.
BN is capable of pursuing its mission to champion the plight of the people, including the Felda settlers, he said at the presentation of a cheque for RM470,000 to be disbursed as annual incentive to 235 members of Koperasi Pembangunan Murut Kalabakan Tawau Sdn Bhd here today .
Also present were Sabah Region Felda general manager, Datuk Juany Salleh and BN candidate for the Tanjung Batu state seat, Datuk Hamisa Samat.
Meanwhile, Sabah Region Felda presented 300 chairs for use at the Merotai Hall and a water tank for the members of the cooperative. — Bernama
