GUA MUSANG, Jan 31 ― The federal government spent RM2.6 million to provide infrastructure  in an area involving 39 houses built by the Kelantan Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIK) for flood victims in Kampung Tanah Puteh here.

Galas assemblyman Ab Aziz Yusof said the infrastructure included roads, electricity supply and piped water for the 39 families who were expected to move into their new home in March.

Eleven of the families are still staying at the Gua Musang Ethnobotany National Service Training camp, while the remaining are staying with relatives after their houses were destroyed in the 2014 floods, he told reporters after when met at the housing area here today.

Ab Aziz, who is also Gua Musang Umno vice-chief, said the federal government had also built 41 houses for flood victims in Kampung Batu Papan 2 here. ― Bernama
