KUANTAN, Oct 23 — Several areas around Kuantan, Rompin and Raub will be experiencing water supply disruption on Wednesday and Thursday (October 25 and 26) as well as on October 31 due to maintenance, pipe diversion and connection works.
Pengurusan Air Pahang Berhad (PAIP), in a statement, today said 5,107 accounts in Raub would be affected by the maintenance works on Wednesday, from 8am to 11.30pm, due to the cleaning works at Phase 1 of Sungai Bilut water treatment plant.
“The areas involved are Felda Krau, Taman Lee Man, Raub district police headquarters, Jalan Tan Tiong, Raub Utama, Bukit Do, Raub town, Tanjung Gadong, Taman Bukit Koman, Sempalit and Taman Emas.
“Other affected areas are Taman Sri Raub, Taman Sempalit Baru, Taman Amalina, Taman Kenanga, Taman Kurnia Jaya, Taman Lily and along Jalan Lipis to Gali Estate,” said the statement.
On the same day, water supply disruption will also involve 10,000 accounts in Rompin due to the valves replacing works at the Keratong water treatment plant, from 8am to 5pm.
Areas expected to be affected by the disruption are Kampung Kekoh, Felda Selancar 1 to 9, Perwira Jaya, Chenderawasih, Pakoti Timur, Chanis, Felda Keratong 1 to 5, Felda Keratong 8 to 10, Melati, Kota Shah Bandar, Bukit Serok, Ladang Ace, Ladang Down, Ladang Bera Selatan 3, 5 and 7.
On Thursday (October 26), PAIP will carry out pipe diversion and connection works to the proposed development site of 1Malaysia People’s Housing Programme (PRIMA) in Jalan Kuantan-Pekan that will affect 40,000 accounts.
“The pipe connection works is scheduled to start at 9 am to 6 pm and the affected areas are the whole Indera Sempurna area, Penor Prison, Sultanah Hajjah Kalsom Children’s Home, Kampung Seri Melati, Kampung Batu Putih, Kampung Semangat and Ubai.
“Other affected areas are Cherok Paloh, Kampung Hijrah, Pantai Sepat, Kampung Cempaka, Berjaya Permai including the shortcut road in Tanjung Lumpur, Kampung Sungai Soi, Kampung Pahang, whole of Kempadang, Kampung Pak Mahat, Tanjung Lumpur and Peramu,” it said.
On October 31, a total of 7,363 accounts in Raub are expected to experience water supply disruption following the cleaning works to remove sand at Sungai Semantan water treatment plant from 8am to 11.30pm.
It said the affected areas are Jalan Cheroh to Kampung Batu Talam, whole of Cheroh, Pusat Serenti, Kampung Ria, Kampung Semantan, Kampung Kdg. Patah, Taman Amalina Perdana, Taman Mutiara, Kampung Sempam, Kampung Sungai Lui, Taman Medan Indah and Taman Shahbandar.
Other affected areas are Taman Abu Bakar, Taman Bahagia, Taman Muhibbah, Tengku Kudin Quarters, Taman Sentosa, Taman Amalina Lestari, Taman Kemajuan and Kampung Simpang Kallang.
