KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 7 — A fire that broke out in a shopping mall here this evening was brought under control within 20 minutes after authorities were alerted to it, the Fire and Rescue Department said tonight.

According to The Star Online, a Fire and Rescue Department spokesman said they received a call at around 7.10pm and managed to bring the fire under control at 7.30pm.

The spokesman said the fire broke out at a convenience store located on the lower ground floor.

Authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire. No injuries have been reported.

Shoppers were seen making their way back into the mall at around 8.15pm.

The fire also caused a traffic jam in the vicinity of the shopping mall as curious onlookers tried to find out what happened.
