GEORGE TOWN, June 30 — Four more men have been arrested in connection with the body of a youth found with both hands and feet tied with nylon rope in a house at Rifle Range flats, here on Wednesday.

Northeast district deputy police chief Supt V. Saravanan said the men including three teenagers, aged 16 to 25 years, were detained yesterday in Kuala Lipis, Pahang.

“All of them are believed to have fled to Kuala Lipis after the incident and police managed to arrest the four yesterday as result of information and intelligence. They are on their way back to George Town and we will get a remand order in court tomorrow,” he said here today.

He said police believed with the arrest of the four men, the murder case involving hotel worker, M. Sathiwill, 20, had been solved.

Saravanan said initial investigation found that they were believed to have hit the victim for allegedly stealing a gold chain from one of the suspects but investigation was still ongoing.

Police had also obtained a closed-circuit television recording to assist in the investigation.

The body of Sathiwill was found wrapped in a bed sheet in the room which he rented with his brother, around 9.30am yesterday by a tenant (woman) of the house.

Initial investigations found that the victim was beaten by five men in the corridor on the 16th floor before being dragged into his room and he was also injured with a blunt object as his face was swollen.

Following the incident, police arrested four people, including a woman, aged 15 to 30 years, to facilitate investigations and they had been remanded for six days. — Bernama
