PUTRAJAYA, June 21 — Tan Sri Isa Samad said today he does not know if he is guilty of any allegations made against him during his time as the Felda Global Ventures (FGV) Holdings Bhd chairman.
The former Umno vice-president spent over four hours having his statement taken at the Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission (MACC) in Putrajaya today.
But upon exiting, Isa refused to reveal the allegations made against him, saying instead he had explained himself to the MACC board.
“I do not want to say what’s the jurisdiction of MACC but I have explained a few things that they have questioned me on.
“Whether I’m wrong or not, I don’t know. I can’t say, I don’t want to jump the gun. That’s up to MACC to decide,” he told reporters outside the MACC office.
Isa’s wife Puan Sri Bibi Sharliza Mohd Khalid was also called up to have her statement taken today, but Isa refused to comment on the allegations made against her.
He also stressed that he is not the only one being investigated by the MACC and all other board members have also been called up.
“All of the board members are being investigated, I have gave [sic] my explanation. Let MACC handle the investigations,” Isa said.
The MACC has already recorded the statement of Datuk Zakaria Arshad, who was suspended as FGV chief executive on June 6.
Isa resigned as FGV chairman yesterday and was subsequently appointed as the acting chair of the Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD).
Tan Sri Dr Sulaiman Mahbob was named acting FGV chairman to replace Isa.
