KULIM, June 15 — Three masked robbers armed with machetes slashed a woman before her two horrified teenage children during a robbery at a house in Taman Desa Impian early today.

In the incident, the 43-year-old woman sustained injuries on the right hand, thigh and head as her school-going children ran out of the house.

The robbers escaped with a laptop and mobile phone in the 6am incident.

Kulim police chief Supt Ahmad Nasir Jaafar described the condition of the woman who was warded at the Kulim Hospital as stable.

He said the robbery occurred when the woman and the two children aged 19 and 17 were preparing to go to work and school.

“The robbers locked the children in a room and forced the woman to show them where her valuables were kept,” he said, adding the woman was however, slashed. — Bernama
