KUALA LUMPUR, June 5 — Despite the recent terrorist attack in London, Malaysians scheduled for trips there have not made any cancellations on their tour plans, according to local tour operators.

Corporate Information Travel Sdn Bhd managing director Thaddeus Foo said Malaysian travellers felt that London was still a safe place.

“I think many people are just going on with their planned trips,” he was quoted as saying by The Star newspaper.

Another travel operator, Parlo Tours Sdn Bhd, similarly said it has not received any trip cancellations from Malaysian travellers, pointing that terror attacks could happen in any parts of the world.

“They are definitely going. Terror attacks haven’t only been happening in London, but other major cities as well,” Kerry Tam, the tour operator’s director was quoted as saying.

News reports said about seven people were killed after a van ploughed into them, which then saw several knife-wielding attackers from the vehicle coming out and stabbing people around the London Bridge area.

Following this incident, Malaysia Airlines said it was willing refund or reschedule if its passengers wanted to do so by today.
