KUALA LUMPUR, June 4 — Malaysia stands in solidarity with the UK following the double spate of attacks in London late last night, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak said today.
At least six people have died and over 20 more wounded after suspected terror militants mowed down pedestrians on London Bridge in a van before running out and slashing and stabbing others in what appeared to be a random act.
“Devastating terror attacks in London. I am shocked and disgusted. Malaysia condemns the heinous acts and we stand with the people of Britain,” he posted briefly on his Twitter account this morning.
Wisma Putra said there have been no reports of Malaysians involved in the London incidents to date, but said they were monitoring the situation.
The Foreign Ministry urged Malaysians residing in the affected areas to stay vigilant and to abide by the instructions of the local authorities as well as to provide updates to the Malaysian community in the capital city.
