KUALA LUMPUR, May 27 — A pregnant woman who was robbed by an Uber driver and an accomplice on Monday has lost her child.

She had been a month into her pregnancy during the incident.

According to the Star Online news portal, 26-year-old Wong Mei Yan held a press conference today to announce that she suffered the miscarriage.

Wong also said she intends to take legal action against the ride-hailing firm to seek reparations for emotional distress and loss.

Wong previously alleged she was robbed at knifepoint by an unknown man who was sitting in the front passenger seat of her Uber ride that was scheduled from Mid Valley to Puchong on Monday night.

The driver and his accomplice then drove another five kilometres and dropped Wong off at Koi Kinrara at 10.20pm, almost one hour after her ride started at 9.30pm.

Police have arrested the driver from the incident and are still hunting the accomplice.
