KUALA LUMPUR, May 25 ― Teachers should stick to their fundamental duty which is to educate and not be an agent in spreading false information, said Deputy Education Minister Datuk P. Kamalanathan.
He said that if it was proven that false information were being spread from among teachers, action would be taken after thorough investigation by the ministry.
”The ministry views this matter seriously because we do not want teachers spreading false information. Do not think that nobody is observing because we are monitoring them.”
He said this to reporters after attending a Malaysian Teacher Education Institute (IPGM) special transformation programme with the National Civics Bureau (BTN), here, today.
Sixty participants attended the programme which was aimed at building an intellectual connection between BTN and IPGM while inculcating the spirit of patriotism and good values among the participants.
It was also a platform for BTN to explain to teachers on government policies and current issues in the country. ― Bernama
