KUALA LUMPUR, May 18 — A PAS leader has accused the Election Commission (EC) of shifting voters in Kelantan constituencies in favour of Barisan Nasional (BN).

Temangan assemblyman Datuk Mohamed Fadzli Hassan alleged that the move has been “There has been a process of shifting voters which is being done by the Kelantan Umno.

“The focus is to increase the number of seats for BN to overthrow the state government. This is undemocratic,” he told reporters during a press conference today.

He claimed that under the new EC ruling, where electoral drafts are not released to the public, it would make it easier for Umno to shift voters.

“What is sure (is) that the voters registered in these areas are Umno supporters. This is immoral and we hope EC is fair and avoids being a tool to any parties,” Mohamed Fadzli added.

The EC on April 29 confirmed that it would not be giving out the draft electoral rolls to all political parties, after a letter with instructions from the commission went viral.

PAS deputy president Datuk Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man said the party’s top leadership will be meeting with the EC in the near future.
