KUALA LUMPUR, May 14 — What seemed like a double rape recorded over CCTV at an illegal electronic gaming outlet in Bandar Kinrara, Puchong Jaya, near here has left cops baffled as the victim has yet to lodge a report of the alleged incident on Friday.

Police have commenced investigations to establish the authenticity of the video recording which has since gone viral.

Investigators have appealed to the victim to come forward, and those with information to contact the nearest police station.

Serdang police chief Assistant Commissioner Megat Mohammad Aminudin Megat Alias said he had yet to receive a report about the incident, hence it was too early to establish if it was really a robbery and rape.

We are probing the four-minute recording to obtain leads,” he said.

In the recording, two unidentified men were seen entering the gambling den before moving in on the outlet’s cashier hiding in a corner of the premises.

The two men were seen taking turns to sexually assault the woman.

While the first suspect was attacking the woman, who was seated on the floor, the other was seen walking around the outlet opening drawers and lockers.

The closed-circuit television video footage of the two men forcing themselves on the woman has gone viral on social media handles along with screen captures of the faces of the suspects.

The video has riled netizens who urged the authorities to probe the incident and punish the suspects severely for their crime.

Mohd Megat said the case was being handled by Selangor police headquarters and that police were looking into the authenticity of the video before investigating further.

He said a task force had also been set up to identify the victim, suspects and the premises where the incident took place.

“We urge the public to stop speculating and not to pass on the video any further,” he said.

He added that the public should be considerate when sharing such recordings on social media platforms, not just it could affect investigations but also to protect the victim.
