KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 14 — Three women were among 16 illegal immigrants who were detained for various offences in a six-hour operation, code-named Op Nyah 2, in the federal capital which ended at 5am today.
Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Amar Singh Ishar Singh said a total of 125 foreigners were inspected during the operation conducted at Genting Court, Jalan Genting Klang and Kondo Damai Sutra, Setapak.
The three women comprised a Somalian, Vietnamese and Indonesian, while the other detained are from Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nepal, China, Yemen and Nigeria, he said in a statement here tonoght.
He said the operation also involved the Volunteer Department (RELA), National Registration Department, Civil Defence Department and the Kuala Lumpur City Hall. — Bernama
