KUALA LUMPUR, July 19 — The Ampang Sessions Court here today set September 19 for remention of the case involving a blogger who is charged with uploading a fake picture of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak on his Facebook page last year.
Judge Rushan Lutfi Mohamed set the date after the case was mentioned before him in chambers in the presence of counsel Dr Syed Iskandar Syed Jaafar Al Mahdzar representing the accused, Abdul Muhaimin Mohd Muhayedin, 27, and deputy public prosecutor Goh Ai Rene.
Abdul Muhaimin was charged with initiating a transmission of false communication deemed to be offensive and with the intent to annoy another person via his Facebook page ‘Adam Mukhriz Muhayeddin’ at 1 pm, on Oct 20, 2015.
Links were then read by other bloggers in Block A, 5th Floor, No 8, Pangsapuri Ampang Mewah, Jalan Mewah 6, Ampang near here, about 9.45am on October 22, 2015.
On May 18, Abdul Muhaimin pleaded not guilty to the charge and was released on RM8,000 bail with one surety. — Bernama
