KUALA LUMPUR, March 14 — Pakatan Harapan will be organising a nationwide “Save Malaysia” roadshow series beginning March 28 to ramp up pressure on the federal government to implement institutional reforms.

The series will kick off with a rally at the Majlis Perbandaran Ampang Jaya (MPAJ) field on March 28 before heading to Gelang Patah in Johor on April 16 and Kedah on May 7.

The series will be led by Parti Amanah Negara's (Amanah) Mohamad Sabu who said today that each event will feature performances and speeches by politicians and activists.

He said invites for the inaugural March 28 event have been extended to former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, former deputy prime minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal.

“We are still waiting for their confirmation," Mohamad told a press conference at the Dewan Rakyat lobby today.

According to the politician, the key objectives of the roadshow series is to push for “complete reformation in systems and institutions, the release of incarcerated Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and the resignation of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.”

Leaders from Pakatan Harapan member parties DAP, PKR and Amanah are scheduled to make appearances during the events.

Mohamad, who is also known as Mat Sabu, claimed the roadshow series is linked to the closed-door gathering of leaders on March 27 organised by Datuk Zaid Ibrahim.

“The Save Malaysia rally would give a chance to all Malaysians to join in as the event on March 27 by Datuk Zaid Ibrahim is a closed-door event that is only limited to around 1,000 invites,” he added.

Meanwhile, PKR's Rafizi Ramli who is part of the roadshow’s organising secretariat said an application has already been put in for the proposed rally on March 28.
