KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 14 — Malay group Jaringan Melayu Malaysia (JMM) today challenged the Facebook user who superimposed the prime minister’s face onto the picture of a local celebrity, to reveal his identity.

JMM’s Federal Territory chief Faizan Mohd Nor called the individual using the “Wak Rick Rock Kapak” screen name a coward, and told him to use elections to express his dissatisfaction.

“You come up, reveal yourself and issue a public apology for insulting our Prime Minister,” he said after lodging a report at the Dang Wangi district police headquarters,

Faizan said his group also lodged a separate report with the Malaysian Communications Multimedia Commission yesterday.

The Facebook user had uploaded a picture of popular beauty entrepreneur Datuk Seri Dr Hasmiza Othman also known as Datuk Vida, and replaced her face with Najib.

The picture included a speech bubble saying, ‘Qu Samun Qu Samun, Barulah Penyamun’ (I rob, I rob, then I become a robber), which was a twist from the tagline for a Qu Puteh product — ‘Qu Puteh, Barulah Putih!

The Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar issued an order on his Twitter account for the police to track down the Facebook user last Friday.

The user’s posting and Facebook profile have since been deleted.
