BARAM, Dec 18 — Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has assured that he will ensure that all promises made to the people of Sarawak will be fulfilled, including providing additional allocations if needed.
“Elected representatives please remember... when you make a promise, it must be fulfilled. If delayed, I will come after you because we are a government that cares for the people,” he said at a “Leaders with the People” session at the Long Bemang longhouse here today.
Also present were Rural and Regional Development Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, Sarawak Social Development Minister Tan Sri William Mawan Ikom, Baram Member of Parliament Anyi Ngau and Telang Usan assemblyman Dennis Ngau.
Ahmad Zahid, who is on a two-day working to the Miri Division in Sarawak, also reminded the people in the state not to be fooled by the opposition’s empty promises.
He said instead, the close relations between the federal government and the state government which had existed all long must be maintained so that all development plans could be executed more easily. — Bernama
