KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 5 — Deputy Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican denied claims that the visit by United States President Barrack Obama here is to put pressure on Malaysia to sign the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPPA).

He said Obama’s visit here was not intended to put pressure on any agreement for the purchase of aircraft or arms.

“Obama’s visit on Nov 20 to 22 is to attend the third ASEAN-US Summit and the 10th East Asia Summit,” he said when winding up the debate on the Supply Bill 2016 in the Dewan Rakyat, here, today.

He said during the visit, the American President was expected to meet with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Tun Razak to discuss various issues such as the developments in bilateral cooperation as well as cooperation at the regional and international levels. — Bernama
