KUALA PILAH, April 12 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak should be given the opportunity to lead the country in his own way, Umno Supreme Council member Datuk Seri Hasan Malek said.
Hasan, who is Domestic Trade, Cooperative and Consumerism Minister, said as a credible leader, Najib had always put the interests of the country and the people above everything else.
“We admit that there may be some weaknesses, but that is normal in any leadership. No one is perfect because we are all human,” he told reporters after opening Kuala Jemapoh Umno branch annual meeting here today.
What matters most, he said was that national interest and the interest of the people would always remain as priorities in Najib’s leadership.
“At the same time, of course, we respect the opinion of (former Prime Minister) Tun Dr. Mahathir (Mohamad) as he is a great statesman,” he said. — Bernama
