KUALA LUMPUR, May 10 ― A man was killed when a lorry crashed into his Proton Wira car while he was making a U-turn at Jalan Kuala Selangor-Sungai Buloh here today.
Sungai Buloh district police chief Supt Junaidi Bujang identified the victim in the crash which occurred about 4.35pm as Chen Chee Mun, 32, from Sekinchan, Selangor.
“The Proton Wira car was believed to have veered to the centre of road after making the U-turn and was then hit by the lorry. The body was then sent to Sungai Buloh Hospital for an autopsy,” he said when contacted by Bernama.
Meanwhile, Senior Fire Officer 11 Roslan Asri, from the Bestari Jaya Fire and Rescue Station, said a fire-engine with six firemen rushed to the scene after receiving a distress call at 4.08pm.
The firemen found the car driver pinned in his seat, while the lorry driver and his attendant were not injured, he added. He said the crash caused an hour-long traffic congestion in the area. ― Bernama
