KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 2 — The month of August was a busy time for fashion events in Kuala Lumpur.

From Melinda Looi’s collaboration with Stoned & Co to Kate Spade New York’s pop-up store, there were plenty of activities to keep fashionistas busy.

Melinda Looi

Malaysian couturier Melinda Looi recently partnered with lifestyle brand Stoned & Co to unveil the Stoned Journey Collection. It was to honour the latter’s journey into the international scene with their newly opened flagship store in Bangkok.

Launched at The Starhill Bukit Bintang, the Stoned Journey Collection is a vibrant tapestry that weaves together the rich cultural heritage of Thailand with the modernity that Stoned & Co is celebrated for.

Fans can expect to see a range of items, including T-shirts and hoodies. The collection was also the result of a collaboration with architecture and interior designer NGO Studio.

Stoned & Co will donate 10 per cent of sales from the collection to Melinda Looi’s Charity For Children’s Initiative, reinforcing the brand’s dedication to philanthropy and community upliftment.

The world’s oldest fine leather luxury goods house, Delvaux has opened its first boutique in Malaysia. Located at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, this momentous occasion marks Delvaux’s continued expansion into key international markets.

The unveiling of the KL boutique stands as Delvaux’s unwavering dedication to sharing its Belgian heritage, historical legacy and contemporary essence with the global audience.

This season’s House of Sephora unveils a curation of beauty launches through six key themes: Bare Beauty, Glow Getter, Skin Streaming, Body Besties, Healthy Hair Club and Clean At Sephora.

Previously known as Sephora Press Day, the biannual event returned with a bang, featuring the exciting newness that fans know and love.

Held at Sentul Works, industry insiders and beauty enthusiasts connected with Sephora Malaysia and its line-up of exclusive brands. Among those featured was new American body care brand Salt & Stone, which focuses on natural organic ingredients.

A pop-up store was launched by Kate Spade New York to celebrate its Fall 2023 collection, including the Dakota handbag assortment.

Located at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur’s centre concourse, the experiential pop-up was wrapped in Kate Spade green, which sits prominently against other brand codes including graphic black and cream stripes and polka-dots.

Earlier this year, the brand partnered with Pantone, the global authority on colour. The colour green is a modern ode to the brand’s heritage, evoking the spirit of possibility and optimism that it has been known for the past 30 years.

Following the pop-up, the Dakota handbag is now available at all Kate Spade New York stores in Malaysia.

Bonia

Lifestyle brand Bonia has opened its new concept store in Mid Valley Megamall. Located on the ground level, the 1,500 square feet boutique was launched on August 30.

It is designed by London-based interior architect Oskar Kohnen, known for his boundary-pushing designs that blend artistic expression with functional spaces.

This new store aims to immerse visitors in the world of Bonia, from handbags and accessories to the brand’s latest offerings in ready-to-wear collection for men’s and ladies. Delving into the realms of duality, the ready-to-wear collection was presented during the store launch.
