Christmas in a Swedish town uniquely made of cardboard

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 14 — IPC Shopping Centre has recreated a quaint Swedish town from cardboard to celebrate Christmas this year.

Drawing upon their Swedish heritage, IPC dedicated their entire Concourse area to this set-up inspired by the architecture of Stockholm’s Gamla Stan (Swedish for Old Town).

Visitors to Swedeland Cardboard Town can expect to be immersed in full yuletide cheer.

Named Cardboard Town of Swedeland, there are six Christmas window displays that double up as a contest, where 12 shoppers who can guess the number of items at the displays will win fabulous prizes worth over RM30,000.

Apart from being able to experience Christmas in a Swedish town, visitors will be treated to a host of Yuletide cheer in the form of carolling, winter-themed ballet dances, toy solider percussion performances and much more.

Shoppers who guess the correct number of items in six Christmas window displays will win fabulous prizes worth over RM30,000.

A host of workshops for children will also be held at the cardboard town, including cookie icing, making snowmen, and making Sweden’s favourite toy — the Dala horse.

Visitors should hurry to see this slice of Sweden, as after December 27, 2015, in keeping with the shopping centre’s sustainability values, materials used to build this entire charming cardboard town will be processed and recycled by IPC’s own Recycling and Buy Back Centre.
