MAY 31 — I have just read your news on Dyana Sofya claim that Gerakan President Mah Siew Keong failed to fulfill his promises made in the Teluk Intan by-election after one year being a minister in the Cabinet.

My family members were Gerakan supporters in Perak when the late Tun Lim Keng Yaik was Gerakan’s President.

After 2008 and Koh Tsu Koon became Gerakan President, so much have changed in the party. Since then, Gerakan President has been known to be subservient to Umno and will follow every single order by their master.

The situation was so bad that even a nickname “Bohood” was given to their President.

It was no surprise that the people in Penang had completely rejected Gerakan under the leadership of Koh Tsu Koon.

There was some hope when Teng Chang Yeow became the Barisan Nasional chairman of Penang as many Penangites see him as a fighter. However, he was unable to regain Penang as the damage in Gerakan’s image under Koh Tsu Koon was too great.

In the party election in 2013, Mah Siew Keong contested against Teng Chang Yeow. Obviously Mah won as many thought Teng Chang Yeow would be better to focus in Penang. But I think that was a wrong choice as I explain below.

As we can see now, there is actually no difference between Mah Siew Keong and Koh Tsu Koon. Both of them only listen to the instructions of Umno and would not dare to differ in opinion. This is even more obvious after given the position in Cabinet as a Minister. A good example is the case of Sedition Act. Gerakan was always fighting for Sedition Act to be abolished. When the Prime Minister that Sedition Act would be abolished, the same tune was sang by the Gerakan President. But the moment the Prime Minister refuse to abolish it, the Gerakan President supports Sedition Act. That was shameful.

Few days ago, I also read in the news that Mah Siew Keong asked people not to make any assumption on 1MDB. Why is Gerakan defending 1MDB when it is so obvious there is something wrong in 1MDB? Even the government had now come out with a new plan to save 1MDB. Why defend the wrong just to please your master?

I’m now not into Gerakan after seeing the situation in Gerakan leadership. Most of my family members in Perak no longer join any Gerakan activities. We are just disappointed and no longer have faith in Gerakan.

Mah Siew Keong is no different from Koh Tsu Koon. In fact, MSK could be KTK 2.0 rebirth.

Gerakan now only have 2 parliamentary seats. But yet, they are unable to focus to fulfill the promises made. As the President of Gerakan, if you cannot fulfill the promises in Teluk Intan, do you think people will trust your party Gerakan?

My guess is Gerakan will be wipe out again next General Election. Penang will also be wipe out as a result of KTK 2.0.

Goodbye Gerakan.
