KUALA LUMPUR, May 7 — Malaysian sitcom Empat Sekawan actress Datuk Lai Meng passed away yesterday. She was 90-years-old.
Chinese newspaper Sinchew Daily had reported that Lai, whose real name is Lai Kwai Yoon passed away peacefully.
On Labour Day, the critically ill Lai was admitted into hospital.
Lai leaves behind two sons and one daughter.
The veteran actress was in the entertainment industry for 53 years before she retired in January this year.
When she was 81 years old, Lai was named Best Supporting Actress at Taipei’s 45th Golden Horses Award for her role in Money No Enough 2.
