LOS ANGELES, June 2 — We don’t get to enjoy many Korean films but if you’re a fan of the horror genre, you might want to take notice of The Wailing which was the sensation at Cannes earlier this month.
Directed by Hong-jin Na (Chaser, The Yellow Sea), The Wailing (Goksung) stars Jun Kunimura (Kill Bill, Audition), Jeong-min Hwang (The Unjust) and Woo-hee Chun.
The synopsis of the film reads: “A stranger arrives in a little village and soon after a mysterious sickness starts spreading. A policeman is drawn into the incident and is forced to solve the mystery in order to save his daughter.”
There’s so much of suspense in the trailer that it also makes you wonder why such fantastic Korean films rarely get much attention.
