LOS ANGELES, May 16 — Kesha has had enough of body shamers and is not backing down for anyone.
In a series of posts on Instagram yesterday, the singer shared photos of herself by the beach — one of which was a silhouette of herself with both middle fingers raised.
“I have been battling depression and an eating disorder for a while now. My career is in a strange place and it feels like I’m fighting an uphill fight some days. But I have decided to take my life back. My freedom. My happiness. My voice. My worth,” the singer wrote in the caption.
“I will not just f***ing be quiet and hide. Today I will say f*** it and live. Today I’m making that choice. AND IM HAPPY AS A DAMN CLAM.”
She then ended the post saying “And also a big ol f*** u if u wanna hate on my body. Just remember that makes u look like a dickhead.”
A few other posts before that showed selfies of the singer enjoying her time by the beach and also what appears to be a new shark tattoo on her wrist.
The 29-year-old, whose full name is Kesha Rose Sebert, is currently involved in an ongoing legal battle with her former producer Dr. Luke over alleged sexual and physical abuse.
A judge in April refused the plea by Kesha to free her from a contract with Dr. Luke’s Kemosabe Records, in a case that has galvanised feminists.
