LOS ANGELES, Feb 29 — While there’s a lot to celebrate when it comes to the Oscars, the Academy Awards took a moment to pay tribute to those stars who are no longer with us today.
Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl performed a touching acoustic at rendition of the Beatles’ Blackbird during the “In Memoriam” segment at the 2016 Oscars in which the Academy honours and remembers its members who passed away in the last year with a video tribute.
Honourees included David Bowie, The Lord of the Rings actor Christopher Lee, Maureen O’Hara, Harry Potter actor Alan Rickman, Titanic composer James Horner, Pixar screenwriter Daniel Gerson and Star Trek’s Leonard Nimoy.
