NEW YORK, Jan 12 ― With a production date of January 2017 and a release currently tracking for May 25, 2018, work is underway to find the actor most capable of playing a younger version of “Star Wars” galactic rogue Han Solo.

Miles Teller (“Whiplash,” “Divergent”), Ansel Elgort (“The Fault in Our Stars,” “Divergent”), Scott Eastwood (“Suicide Squad,” “Fury”) and Blake Jenner (“Glee,” “Everybody Wants Some”) are among those named by the Variety report.

Also on the list are Dave Franco (“Neighbors”), Logan Lerman (“Percy Jackson,” “Fury”), Jack Reynor (“Transformers: Age of Extinction”) and Emory Cohen (“Brooklyn”).

A decision is expected “in the next couple of weeks.”

Though the Han Solo anthology film is not due until 2018, it’s said that the new actor may have a cameo part in “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” which is set for December 16, 2016, though “insiders were unable to confirm.”

Such a move would mirror Disney and Marvel tactic of inserting Tom Holland, the next Spider-Man, into “Captain America: Civil War.” ― AFP-Relaxnews
