LOS ANGELES, June 10 — The “Powerpuff Girls” are returning in 2016, Cartoon Network announced on Monday.

Entertainment Weekly reported that Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup will sport the same wide eyes and signature hairstyles they rocked during their initial run — but behind that familiar look will be a whole new sound.

The network introduced the new actresses voicing the superhero girls: Amanda Leighton will voice Blossom, Kristen Li, Bubbles and Natalie Palamides, Buttercup.

Tom Kenny returns as the Narrator/Mayor.

The original show’s pilot first aired in 1996 and the series ran on Cartoon Network from 1998 to 2004 for 78 episodes.
