‘I’ll still call him Bruce’, Caitlyn Jenner’s mum says

LOS ANGELES, June 2 — Jenner family matriarch Esther Jenner reacted to Caitlyn Jenner’s debut as a woman on the cover of Vanity Fair yesterday.

The 88-year-old grandmother told Access Hollywood, “She’s beautiful!”

She also divulged that she met Caitlyn before her big reveal to the world.

“I met Caitlyn. She is… so much more at ease,” she added.

However, Esther said would continue calling her child by her birth name.

“I still have to call him Bruce,” she said. “His father and I named him that.”

But it might just be a case of old habits die hard, as she ended on a reassuring note: “It’s going to be a struggle for me to get used to the change, but happily so… I’m very happy for him — or her!”
