LOS ANGELES, Feb 7 — Kerry Washington has made the cover of March's InStyle magazine, but the photo used is raising some eyebrows — the picture has come under scrutiny for, what some are claiming, shows Washington with lighter skin.
The magazine responded to the accusations with a statement claiming that they did not airbrush the “Scandal” star, saying “While we did not digitally lighten Kerry's skin tone, our cover lighting has likely contributed to this concern. We understand that this has resulted in disappointment and hurt.“
Washington herself seems to like the photo. The actress posted about it on her Twitter account saying she was thrilled to share it with the world.
The March issue is available on February 13. — Reuters
