At the event, Gomez was on hand to answer questions from her fans in a Twitter Q&A.

The collection, dubbed “rock chic” by Adidas, features 53 pieces all designed for teenage girls. The designs have been inspired by the star’s love of music and feature iconic styling from the world of rock and roll, Adidas says — think denim vests with embellished collars, T-shirts embossed with the slogan “Get Out There,” and black studded wedged sneakers, “perfect for a lunch date with friends,” according to a press release.

“I love playing around with fashion and like clothes that are fun, easy to wear and comfortable,” Gomez said. “My collection has a ‘rock chic’ theme and it’s confident, rebellious and fun.”

“It’s also a little bit darker and I think it encourages girls to put their own stamp on their individuality and show confidence in what they are wearing.”

Last year, the 20-year-old Gomez was announced in Los Angeles as the face of the youth-oriented brand NEO, and she is set to appear over the next three years in a series of print, digital, retail, and outdoor campaigns. — AFP/Relaxnews
