LONDON, June 10 — Ladies, it’s time to keep an eye on your favourite torrent download site now — if you want to be early for your appointment with Mr Grey, that is.
E.L. James’ latest novel “Grey” has reportedly been stolen a week ahead of its official release on June 18.
The Mirror reports that a police investigation has been launched in the UK amid fears the highly anticipated erotic book will be leaked on the black market.
The UK newspaper said a member of staff at publishers Penguin Ransom House discovered a copy of the new book was missing and alerted the police.
Representatives for Penguin Random House said that they did not want to comment due to the ongoing police investigation, when contacted by The Mirror.
“Grey” is a re-imagining of the original book — told from protaganist Christian Grey’s perspective — and its release is timed to coincide with the fictional billionaire’s birthday.
The original books in James’ erotic trilogy have sold more than 125 million copies worldwide. The first film from the franchise made a whopping US$570 million (RM2.1 billion) worldwide.
